In October, Jerry and Donna led a three-day conference on the bio-sand filter for 25 participants at the Wycliffe USA headquarters in Orlando. Jerry taught courses on transportation and filter construction and demonstrated many of the innovations he had developed, while Donna provided insights on global hygiene issues and ways to use the filter safely and cleanly.
“We pray that we’ve given this instruction to the right people that can keep this going once we’re gone,” Donna said after the conference.
“The goal is to teach the nationals to do this in their own village,” Jerry added. “We’re hoping that this workshop is just the start. We pray that the participants can be excited about it and go and teach it.”
While Wycliffe translators continue to work around the world to provide access to the Living Water and God’s Word, Donna and Jerry Ohs hope to use their passion for clean water to open doors to Bible translation opportunities. They see these tools as a catalyst for those still waiting to hear—and taste—His blessings.
