How it Works

Wycliffe Foundation can help you create a legacy plan that will allow you to continue your support of missionaries serving with a Wycliffe organization. One way to do this is through a Missionary Support Plan, or MSP.

Through this irrevocable agreement, you can provide monthly support to your designated missionary with a gift of $10,000 or more in cash, securities or other assets. Your contributions are eligible for current-year tax deductions. The assets go into an interest-bearing account, and support continues as long as the missionary is in a financial relationship with Wycliffe, or until funds are exhausted. You can set up an MSP to begin immediately or, if funded through a bequest, to begin and continue after your lifetime. If the missionary leaves Wycliffe before funds are exhausted, the remainder will be used where needed most.

Missionary Support Plan

Are you aware that you have the ability to provide ongoing monthly support for our ministry with just one gift? Through Wycliffe Foundation, you can set up a Missionary Support Plan (MSP)—an agreement that enables you to provide monthly support for our ministry until funds are exhausted. It takes only a single gift of $10,000 or more in cash or other assets, and can be set up to begin immediately or after your lifetime. Any contributions are eligible for current-year tax deductions.

As Wycliffe missionaries for more than 35 years, Mel and Nory have worked overseas in Colombia and Senegal, as well as here at home in Texas and Washington state. They now serve with the Americas Area of SIL International. Mel works with the Language Strategies and Programs database, and Nory is the communications and prayer coordinator.

Over the years, Mel and Nory cherished their faithful prayer and financial partners. One of these partners was Bob MacDicken, who had a heart for missions and supported Mel and Nory for most of their Wycliffe careers. Bob wanted to continue this support even after his death, so he and his first wife, Nancy, contacted Wycliffe Foundation and made provisions in their wills to do so.

Bob and Nancy have since passed away, and now Mel and Nory receive monthly support from a Missionary Support Plan (MSP) funded by the MacDickens’ bequests.

The MSP has blessed Mel and Nory in a practical way. “Through the years, you lose supporters,” Nory says. “This gift has been a real encouragement to us to keep pressing on.”
